Altobridge, a developer of advanced cellular communications for remote applications, now offers a Remote Contiguous Communications (RCC) Unit for first responders. The fully portable suitcase-sized solution combines cellular and satellite technology, independent of local infrastructure, to restore communication between first responders and other key emergency resources. First responders can communicate using standard devices such as their cellphones and PDA’s, eliminating the need for customized handsets that often require user-training. Calls made are converted to an Internet Protocol (IP) stream that is submitted over satellite and received back to the handset through an existing network provider or other public and private network.
